Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, April 18 2015 :
An immature barking deer was handed over to PFA by villagers of Kwatha.
According to a statement, the deer was reared by the villagers since two months back after it was found abandoned by its mother.
The deer is now at PFA Manipur's shelter for rehabilitation.
At the same time, taking strong exception of the news reports about the killing of a deer by policemen at Ukhrul, the PFA Manipur has appealed to the Chief Wildlife Warden, Manipur, DFO Ukhrul and Home Minister to take immediate and strong action against the culprits involved in such cruelty.
WLP Act is not for powerless and ignorant poachers only.
