Imphal, April 18 2015 :
Collective Farming Cooperative Society (CFCS) urged all groups on Saturday to refrain from creating further discord over the 17-Chaobok Loukol (paddy field) .
All areas falling under the 17-Chaobok Loukol were officially registered with the Government Department concerned well before 1962, CFCS secretary Md Islamuddin said a press meet organized at his residence in Lilong Ushoipokpi of Thoubal district.
He claimed one MA Grafar Sheikh, a non-resident of Ushoipokpi, has been trying to grasp land in the 17-Chaobok Loukol.
Sheikh has a forged patta and that he along with a joint action committee (JAC) has been creating trouble.
Islammudin further said that Sheikh was recently arrested by police after a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against him.
But he is now on bail, he added.
He said Sheikh and his party have been trying to incite violence within the village of 17-Chaobok and warned that he must be held responsible for any untoward events.
