Governor's Taekwondo Cup: 13 gold medals on 3rd Day

Imphal, April 18 2015 :
Thirteen gold medals were decided on the third day of the 11th Governor's Taekwondo Cup at Indoor Stadium, Khuman Lampak under the aegis of All Manipur Taekwondo Association (AMTA) on Saturday.
Altogether 341 Black Belt holders (180 girls and 161 boys) under the AMTA from 13 Taekwondo units are participating in the four-day span competition to vie for the prestigious title in different weight categories.
N Helena (NSA) won the Cadet girls U-59 kg gold medal while Kh Babina (HTA) also won the same colour of medal in U-18 Sub junior girls event.
Ng Ashakiran (HTA) pockets gold medal in U-22 Sub junior girls event by out kicking T Rejia (HTA) while N Saina (UTA) and Christina (UTA) settles for bronze.
U-46 kg junior girls event was won by O Khujmanleima (NSA) after beating M Pushpatally in the final bout.
In the same event, Kh Dhaneshwori (UTA) and L Achaltombi (SAI) ended with bronze medal.
Junior girls U-49 was won by Preetna N (PTA) after overcoming Th Inaobi (NSA).
On the other side, S Supana (UTA) and Binde Athokpam (PTA) had to satisfy with bonze.
M Rickey Devi (UTA) outsmarts T William Chanu (IMTRA) for the U-44 kg Cadet girls event.
Christina P (UTA) and S Lamnganbi (UTA) were the bronze medal for being semifinal losers.
U-51 cadet girls was won by Priyanka (UTA) after overcoming the challenge of L Anjubala (HTA) while M Roshni (SAI) was the bronze winner.
M Sarjubala (UTA) secured senior women's U-67 kg gold.
In senior women's U-46 kg Ch Malemnganbi (UTA) had to satisfied with silver medal after losing to A Bijenti (SAI) in the final match.
Junior girls U-42 kg went to N Jina (NSA) while L Ronika (Naoriya) and T Nanao (UTA) bagged silver and bronze respectively.
In Boys section, W Sachin (IMRTA) won the U-25 kg Sub junior gold after defeating M Kebidin (Naoriya) while W Arbindo (HTA) and M Zeeher Alam (Sora) secured the bronze medal.
Dcikson (UTA) lifted the U-21 kg Sub junior after blocking the attacks of Sh Rikisan (HTA).
S Rahul (UTA) and Md Sahilkhan (Sora) were the bronze medal winners in the same event.
Ch Yaihanba (NSA) was declared the winner of cadet U-65 kg class.
The action will continue tomorrow on the same venue.
