Imphal, April 18 2015 :
In 'cremated' wife discovery case, family members of Naobi's second husband Sanayaima have clarified that they never knew about Naobi's marital status.
In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Sanayaima's uncle Takhellambam Tolen said that Sanayaima eloped with Naobi on November 24, 2013 .
At that time, Sanayaima was engaged in a construction work at Takyel, he added.
Tolen further said that as Naobi told Sanayaima's family that she was living in her uncle Brojen's house at Chandrakhong under Yairipok police station at that time, elders of Sanayaima's family informed Brojen's family about the elopement of Sanayaima and Naobi as per tradition.
Later, Keina Katpa ceremony of Naobi and Sanayaima was held in order to get acceptance from the society as a married couple according to the tradition.
Saying that Nongdam Tangkhul village is not the native village of Sanayaima, Tolen said that Sanayaima was working at the village and he went there on March 23 while Naobi went there on March 24 .
Claiming that Sanayaima is innocent and he does not know about the past stories of Naobi and her marital status, Tolen urged the police to release Sanayaima from the custody.
It may be mentioned that Naobi's first husband Laishram Chaoba filed her missing report in Thoubal police station on August 22, 2011 .
