Nepali Sahitya Parishad organises international seminar on Nepali/ Gorkhali Language

Nepali Sahitya Parishad (NSP) Manipur organised a one day international seminar on Nepali/ Gorkhali Language and its literature at the Community Hall Kanglatongbi today.
The event was related with MIL Nepali Syllabus of Class IX and above, said a statement by NSP, Manipur.
The seminar was attended by Professor Govindaraj Bhattarai, Department of English Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu and a well known writer and a philosopher as the chief guest, Gyan Bahadur Chhetri, renowned writer from Assam as guest of honour and Bhawani Adhikari, president of Nepali Shaitya Parishad Manipur as the functional president.
Dignitaries, president/secretary, representatives from different Manipur based Gorkha organizations attended the event like Gorkha Welfare Union Manipur, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union, Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh Manipur Branch, Nepali Sanskriti Suraksha Parishad Manipur, Damai Samaj, All Manipur Gorkha Ex-servicemen Association Manipur, Gorkha Samaj Ukhrul, Gorkha Samaj Senapati Women Societies, MGYA, youth clubs, MIL Nepali Students and teachers of various schools of Manipur.
During the seminar, Kritimani Khatiwada, formal secretary NSP highlighted the condition of Nepali /Gorkhali Language and literature while Parishad's general secretary, Deepak Pantha stated the aims and vision of NSP Manipur.
He maintained that NSP Manipur is a pure literary organization which works on development of Nepali/Gorkhali language and its culture.
The Parishad has published different books and articles annually with the help and support of some language lovers, he added.
The Pangei Nepali Basti youths and Charhajare youths entertained the gathering through their performance of Manipuri cultural dance and Gorkha cultural dance.
Later a Gorkha / Nepali poetry reading session was also held.
During the occasion, five literary books were released as well.
