At Sinam Khul, one of the protesters Ph Bhogendrajit said that some people of their neighbouring village have started to claim Sinam Khul as theirs.
He also claimed that many valley villages have been incorporated in the map of Kangpokpi and Sadar Hills.
Saying that the same practice could create misunderstanding and tension among the people, he urged the State Government to solve the issue at the earliest. Another protester at Eshikha, Oinam Ibomcha said that KSO publishing a press note against the incorporation of Meetei villages adjacent to Chandel, Kangpokpi and Chura-chandpur in the valley districts was rather unfortunate and unacceptable.
He urged the State Government to look into the matter urgently.
At Kanglatongbi, advisor of United Youth Club Kanglatongbi, Thoudam Gunindro maintained that the Meetei villages which share a border with hill districts will always remain as a part of the valley districts.
Appealing to the Govet to keep Kanglatongbi as a part of Imphal West, he urged the State Govt to solve the district boundary issues and prevent the matter from escalating.
