Unauthorised entry : Myanmarese, abettor held 34 border outposts coming up

Ningshen Worngam, DIG Intelligence Range II , has informed that construction of at least 34 border outposts have begun to prevent entry of non locals into the State unlawfully.
He also said that the Government will carry out verification drives to identify those who managed to enter the State without following any protocol.
The DIG made the remarks during a press briefing held today at the Officers' Club of 1st Manipur Rifle on the arrest of one Myanmar National from near Chakpikarong on November 7 last.
While briefing the media, the DIG stated that two persons including one Myanmar National were arrested by 37 Assam Rifles from Kuljang road near Chakpikarong on November 7 and handed over to Chakpikarong police station.

The Myanmar National introduced himself as Holkholal (38) s/ Thongkhothang of Khengjang Village while the other person Letminthang Baite (30), s/o L Ngamlet Baite of Charongching Village has been accused of assisting the Myanmar National in crossing the border from Khenjang Village near Molcham police station.
He further stated that Holkholal turned out to be a fake name as his real name has been established as Lenkhenmang Mate (26), s/o Doujatong Mate of Tuivang Village, Myanmar during interrogation and he was impersonating as Holkholal of Khengjang Village who expired in May 2019 .
A case has been registered against the duo under relevant Sections of the Foreigner Act and they have been remanded to 8 days police custody till November 15 by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Chandel, he added.
Expressing concern over the involvement of local people in issuance of Aadhaar cards to foreigners and in assisting immigrants to enter the country illegally, the DIG appealed to all the citizens to refrain from assisting foreigners in unlawful acts as actions will be taken up against them too.
To a query, Ningshen Worngam said that construction of at least 34 outposts is underway at border areas to prevent the influx of illegal immigrants into Manipur.
