Imphal, April 06 2022:
All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) has stated that the student body will convene a meeting with All Manipur School Students Transporters' Association (AMSSTA) at the earliest to discuss the grievances of the Association in light of the recent State Government order announcing new school hours for students.
In a statement, AMSU also made an appeal to the State Government to discuss the problems faced by AMSSTA and create new guidelines that prove to be amicable to both sides.
It may be noted that on March 3, the association had laid down their grievances through various media channels and called for the State Government's intervention in solving their problems.
Failing which, they threatened to launch a series of agitation.
AMSU also acknowledged the inconveniences that may be caused to teachers, students and their guardians if van drivers stop providing their transportation services and as such, stressed on the need to bring about an amicable solution.
Lastly, AMSU cautioned the drivers against driving with the doors open, exceeding seat capacity, speeding and driving while intoxicated to avoid causing any unfortunate incident.
