Lamka, November 12 2014:
Top officials from Science and Technology Department along with five representatives of MTDC today visited a proposed site for Science and Technology park at Lamjang village, where a science centre complete with technology park is expected to come up for the first time outside Imphal.
The official team accompanied by Gouzamang Guite, executive member, ADC Churachandpur and S Thenlaljoy Gangte, SDO, Churachandpur conducted a thorough survey of the proposed land located adjacent to Khuga lake.
The EM, who had on earlier occasions donated his land for building a residential school, has this time as well offered to donate as much land as required along the scenic settings to set up the park.
Claiming that the visiting officials were overwhelmed with the land he offered, Gouzamang said the NEC has agreed to fund the park as a priority project and was recommended by the Deputy Commissioner, the Minister in-charge and the Chief Minister.
He further exuded confidence that the location would not just offer an extra attraction to the proposed park but will open up new avenues even for hiking and camping activities besides installing aerial ropeways or cableway.
