Sit-in demands wage revision for bank employees

Imphal, November 12 2014:
Extending solidarity to the demand for revision of wage for bank employees of the country made by All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA), United Forum of Bank Unions Manipur State Committee staged a sit-in-protest in front of SBI, MG Avenue Branch today.
Speaking to media persons, S Indrakumar, co-convener of United Forum of Bank Unions Manipur State Committee said that bank strike would be launched in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sikkim, West Bengal and Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands including northeastern States on December 4 in pursuance of the demand.

Strike in southern zone would be launched on December 2, northern zone on December 3 and western zone on December 5, he informed.
Saying that future course of action to be taken up in connection with the demand would be decided collectively by banks situated in different parts of the country, he cautioned that indefinite bank would be launched if positive response to the demand is not given at the earliest.
