HL to receive three out of eight State Journalist Awards 2014

Imphal, November 12 2014:
In yet another milestone fetched by 'Hueiyen Lanpao', three out of the eight State Journalist Awards given annually by Directorate of Information & Public Relation (DIPR) in connection with Information Day, will be received by three staff reporters of the newspaper for this year.
Notably, Hueiyen Lanpao had also received three State Journalist Awards in different categories given by DIPR last year.
The three reporters of Hueiyen Lanpao who will be receiving the awards are Bijoy Laishram for Rural Reporting; Puyam Rameshwar for Parliamentary Reporting and Meisnam Karnajit alias Kuku for Science & Technology.
The remaining five awards will be presented to Valley Rose, editor of Aja, daily newspaper published in Tangkhul dialect for best editorial on Communal Harmony & National Integration; RK Manisana, sports journalist of Poknapham (Best Journalist Award); Longjam Arishrona, staff reporter of The People's Chronicle (Art & Culture); Kshetri Meghajit, sub-editor of Naharolgi Thoudang (Public Health & Hygiene) and Sapam Aruna, staff reporter of Sangai Express (Women & Child Rights) .
The awards which included a cash prize of Rs 25, 000 each will be presented on the occasion of National Press Day celebration to be held on November 16 .
District Information Officer (DIO) of DIPR had sent a written statement to each of the eight nominees of the awards informing them to receive the awards on the day.
It may be mentioned here that Meisnam Karnajit had already received the State Journalist Award on Public Health & Hygiene last year.
For this year, he will be receiving the State Journalist Award on Science & Technology in recognition of his intriguing reporting on the subject.
