AJICLA demands regularisation of contract teachers, warns agitation

All Jiribam Contract Lecturer's Association (AJICLA), Jiribam said it will launch intense form of agitation in hands with Jiribam civil society organisations, student bodies and Jiribam locals in case the State Government fails to issue regularisation order for contract lecturers based at Jiribam at the earliest.
AJICLA has been demanding clearance of 9 months salary for Higher Secondary contract lecturers and issuance of service extension and regularisation orders for contract lecturers who have been serving for over 20 years.
Jiribam MLA Th Debendra Singh and Education Minister M Okendro when approached by a team of Jiribam contract lecturers led by AJICLA earlier this year had assured regularisation of all contract lecturers by the beginning of 2016, a statement issued by AJICLA publicity secretary said.
However, no orders have been issued by the State Government concerning service extension and regularisation of contract lecturers.
The association, urging State Government to expedite the regularisation process has warned of intense agitations in case the State Government fails to address their demand.
