MNYO holds meet on 'Dawn of Indigenous Era'

Imphal, September 19 2026:
The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation (MNYO) organised a one-day State Level Interaction on "Dawn of Indigenous Era" at its headquarters Maiyayur Association, Dewlahland, Imphal on September 18 .
Several intellectuals and eminent leaders including former Minister O Henry, Native People's Committee convenor Ashang Kasar, Core Committee Haomee Federation convenor Vicisy Yazing, Tangkhul Welfare Association Imphal president Bijoy Mashangva, Padmashree awardee Guru Reuben Mashangva, headmen and leaders from hill districts attended.
The meeting noted the need for greater unity and coordinated action among indigenous communities to safeguard their interests.
It observed with concern loopholes created by some elected representatives in adequately representing genuine sentiments of indigenous communities affecting their rights, security and livelihood.
The meeting stressed the need to develop dynamic mechanism for paradigm political shift for implementation and updation of NRC, and resolved to involve in upcoming general election to ensure committed representatives who uphold legitimate interests of indigenous people.
It also observed need to confront challenges of demographic imbalance, land, security and resources on war footing, and called upon all political parties and elected representatives to work collectively in the larger interest of indigenous people.
