Imphal, November 03 2026: 14 CSOs Kangleipak has clarified that it has placed no ban on artists, especially singers.

No singer is banned from performing, recognising their contributions to the promotion of art and culture, it said in a statement today.

Artists, especially singers, have been making tremendous contributions towards promoting art and culture of the State, and in efforts to bring about unity and integration.

Their platform is also an important medium through which democratic public movement to protect the State's integrity is sustained and promoted, said the 14 CSOs.

Aribam Syam Sharma's surrender of award and singer Jayenta's contributions towards the public movement for updation of the NRC, and many such contributions of the artist fraternity are commendable and recognised.

Considering such contributions including the fact that the livelihoods for many of them depend on public performances, the 14 CSOs place no ban on them, it said.
