Memorial stone of departed KRA leader erected

Memorial stone of former C-in-C of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), Khupkholam Hangshing alias K Hangshing was erected to mark his death anniversary today at the outfit's Gamnom designated camp at Lhungtin village under Saikul subdivision in Senapati district.
Offering revolutionary gun salute and floral tributes to the statue and memorial stone of the departed leader by the cadres marked the memorial stone erection function.
The gatherings also observed silence in honour of the leader.
Leaders of two umbrella organisations of Kuki UG groups, KNO and UPF, Kuki Inpi, Manipur, KSO, KWU, village chiefs, Church leaders, social activists and people attended the memorial stone erection ceremony.

Rev J Lunkim, moderator, KCC Manipur Synod was the minister of the memorial stone erection ceremony.
Another memorial stone for departed cadres and officers of the KRA was also inaugurated during the function.
Later, a solemn public meeting was held at Lhungtin public ground where speakers recalled the contributions of K Hangshing to the society during his lifetime.
K Hangshing founded the KRA on Dec 29, 2000.He died on Nov 12, 2007 at New Delhi.
He was born on Jan 7, 1975 at Tingpibung village under Saikul subdivision.
He was a National taekwondo gold medallist before joining the Kuki revolutionary movement.
He was instrumental in forming the United Peoples' Front (UPF), the erstwhile Kuki National Council.
He also played an important role in facilitating tripartite SoO agreement although he passed away before signing the pact.
