The warmth spirit of Believer's Church, Manipur reaches the poor of the State.
As a part of a Community Development Project taken up by the Believer's Church, Manipur, 500 blankets were distributed to the needy during a ceremony held today at the Church premises, Langol Laimanai here.
IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Other dignitaries present were Rev (Rtd) Thomas PS, Bishop of Imphal Diocese and Rev S Prim Vaiphei, president of AMCO.
Speaking at the occasion, Rev Thomas said that the community development project was taken up to help the needy cutting across religious and communal divides.
He said the project was taken up to help the poor contrary to the popular belief of helping members of the Christian community.
Under its various projects like Jesus Well, Bridge of Hope, the Believer's Church has extended assistance to over 60,000 poor children of India.
Among this, 20200 children are from Manipur.
IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip said that everything is possible through prayer and belief in God's love.
He also conveyed his readiness to extend assistance to the Church in such noble venture.
A total of 500 double-size blankets were distributed to 500 families of different communities from Thoubal, Bishnupur, Imphal, Senapati, Ccpur and Chandel districts.
Besides, six spectacles and one wheelchair were also distributed during the function.
