Capacity building workshop

A two-day stakeholders workshop for 'Capacity building of officers of KVKs in the NEH Region' was opened today at the conference hall of College of Agriculture, CAU.
The workshop is being organised by the Directorate of Extension Education, Central Agricultural University.
College of Agriculture former Dean Dr N Iboton, College of Agriculture Dean Dr JM Laishram, ICAR, RC for NEH region Joint Director Dr N Prakash, ICAR Deputy Secretary (Education) Kanhaiya Chaudhary, KVS, MHRD former Deputy Commissioner Dr VK Agrawal and CAU Extension Education Director Dr M Premjit graced the opening function as presidium members.
Speaking at the inaugural session, Dr VK Agrawal said that there should be a systematic approach to improvise training in the region.
Kanhaiya Chaudhary said that the main objective of the workshop is to understand the expectations of different stakeholders of the State.
Dr N Iboton said that the trainers' priority is to know difficulties faced by farmers.
He called upon trainers to work together in order to perform and implement what is required so that farmers are benefited to the maximum potential.
Dr M Premjit said that re-orientation of extension service for far flung areas should be promoted and more emphasis should be given to reach out to farmers.
Skill development of rural youth and mobile based information delivery system would be effective in this regard, he added.
