Ministerial team not pleased with work progress

A team of Ministers who were on inspection spree in Senapati district today expressed displeasure over the slow progress of Mini Sports Complex construction at Karong in Senapati district.
Works and Transport Minister, Dr Kh Ratankumar Singh; RD and PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa; Parliamentary Secretary, M Prithviraj and Chairman of HAC, Dr Chaltonlien Amo today went on an inspection spree in Senapati district.
On seeing the slow progress in the construction of Mini Sports Complex at Karong which was sanctioned during 2004-05 and implementation in 2008, the Ministerial team expressed their displeasure.
Although officials and MDS authority inspected the site five times, no progress has been made, RD and PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa said.
He said that the matter would be intimated to the CM.
The indoor stadium remained incomplete and the construction of the gallery is not upto the mark.
Later, the team inspected the Senapati district Jail.
Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar said that the early completion of the jail construction would be ensured.
'Dr Ratankumar also inaugurated a playground at Sheemai (Maiba) village.
Addressing the gatherings, the Minister said that Manipur has of late made progress in various fields.
However, the global economic crisis has impacted implementation of developmental works.
He also harped on the successful implementation of various projects in the hill districts.
