CM calls to speed up fund utilisation

Noting that the poll schedules for the Lok Sabha election may be announced any time, Chief Minister O Ibobi has instructed all the departments to ensure that maximum portion of the State's annual plan amount is utilized.
The review meeting presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi was attended by Ministers and top-ranking officials.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Government spokesman M Okendro said that Rs 1515 crore has been released so far out of the State total plan outlay of Rs 3550 crore.
So far 60 per cent of the released amount has been utilized.
The meeting also discussed about formulating a need-based plan outlay for the next financial year.
In addition to directing all the Ministers to expedite utilization of the plan amount, the Chief Minister instructed all the departments to submit due proposals to the Finance Department by February 10 for releasing necessary funds.
After the review meeting, a Cabinet meeting was held with the Chief Minister in the chair and it decided to upgrade nine Junior High Schools to the level of High Schools.
The Cabinet meeting further discussed to appoint additional 54 teachers in the ongoing recruitment process of RMSA teachers for the Junior High Schools which would be upgraded to High Schools.
Another agenda of the meeting was recruitment of 18 Executive Officers of 18 Nagar Panchayats, eight Assistant Executive Officers for eight Municipal Councils and five male nurses for jail on contract basis.
The Cabinet then decided to hand over maintenance and development work of Kamjong-Chassad, Gamnom-Chamu and Phangrei-Melluri roads to the BRO.
