Imphal, January 31 2014 :
Apparently aimed at making a mockery of the frequent demeaning comments by Congress leaders on the tea-vendor family background of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, referred in the party circle as NaMo, BJP Manipur Pradesh activists will join their country-wide colleagues in offering tea, free of cost, to the general public tomorrow.
Themed 'Namo Chai Party', BJP State unit plans to offer tea to passers-by at 200 locations, including the party's office gate at Nityaipat Chuthek and district headquarters from 7 to 9 am tomorrow.
Speaking to newspersons at the party office today, State general secretary M Asnikumar Singh said the event is being planned to highlight to the people about the ordinary background of the Modi family and rise of Narendra Modi's stature as a leader of national reckoning.
The event to be officially kick-started in the State by party's State unit president Th Chaoba at Nityaipat Chuthek is to convey the message that, irrespective of struggle in life due to economic disparity, with selfless endeavour and resilience one can continue to serve the Nation with the people's mandate, expressed the secretary.
Declaring that upliftment of socio-economic condition of all the Indian citizens is the top priority of the BJP prime ministerial candidate, Asnikumar also asserted that under the leadership of Narendra Modi the party will make Indian democracy more vibrant and people-friendly.
