Imphal, January 31 2014 :
Sebastian Kamei has been appointed as the vice president of Naga People Front, Manipur State Youth Wing.
This was notified by Honreikhui Kashung, the NPF, Manipur State general secretary
(Administration) .
Sebastian Kamei unsucessfully contested the Manipur assembly poll in 2007 from Nungba assembly constituency.
Meanwhile, the Naga People's Front (NPF), Manipur State on Thursday accused the Congress Government of Manipur of preventing the former from gaining a foothold in the state.
"Ours is not a communal party, but the Ibobi Government has dubbed it so to prevent it from getting a foothold in Manipur," Soso Lorho, president NPF Manipur state unit, alleged while speaking at a one-day divisional level political conference organised by the party's Chandel divisional unit at District Sports Complex, Chandel.
He accused the state Congress unit of dubbing the NPF as a communal party with the sole objective to misguide the people on the wrong trail so as to reject it.
Lorho stated that NPF is not working against any community in the state, but the party is always against the misrule of Ibobi Government.
NPF is disclosing the misdeeds of the Congress Government which is always seeking to hide its real face, the NPF leader said.
All the civil society organisations and political parties in Manipur, barring the Congress, are showing good gesture to NPF, he alleged, adding that the Congress is always in fear of losing power.
"We have established the party here in Manipur with an aim to protect the interest of the minority communities who have long been suppressed by communal forces," he said.
He added that to achieve NPF's goal, the party needs support from the people without which nothing can take place.
Lorho also said the party has already worked with like-minded parties like the Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP), Manipur People's Party (MPP), and People's Democratic Front (PDF) to strengthen its position in the state.
MLAs ST Nunghlung Victor and Samuel Raisom, Dr Khashim Ruivah, former minister and advisor of NPF Manipur unit, and several leaders of the party, including Chandel divisional unit also took part in the political conference.
