Cabinet approves upgradation of 9 Jr High Schools

The State Cabinet has approved upgradation of nine Junior High Schools to High Schools along with appointment of 54 teachers on regular basis during a meeting held this afternoon.
Talking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting, Spokesperson of State Government Minister M Okendro said that as per requirement nine Junior High Schools namely Poirou Khongjil JHS in Imphal East, Pukhrambam JHS in Bishnupur district, Maram Khullen JHS in Senapati district, Bishnulal JHS and Chairen JHS in Thoubal district, Kangreng JHS in Churachandpur district, Dolang JHS and Tharon JHS in Tamenglong district and Lambui JHS in Ukhrul district would be upgraded to High Schools along with appointment of 54 teachers on regular basis through the recruitment process of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shikshya Abhiyan (RMSA) .
Okendro further said that the development of four roads in remote areas of the State namely Kamjong-Chasad Riad, Nampisa-Khudengthabi Road, Gamnom-Chamu Road and Phungrei Mellori Road would be handed over to Border Road Organization (BRO) as these roads do not come under PMGSY.
The post creation for Executive Officers of 18 Nagar Panchayats and Assistant Executive Officers of eight Municipal Councils along with appointment of five male nurses on contract basis for the Jail Department were also approved by the Cabinet today, the Spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, prior to the cabinet meeting, a review meeting of plan expenditure was held in the chair of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, who is also in-charge of the Finance Department.
The HODs of all Government departments attended the meeting.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi strictly instructed the HODs to utilize most of the funds before the enactment of model code of conduct for the coming Lok Sabha Election.
So far, a sum of Rs.1515 crores out of the total Rs.3650 crores for the State's annual plan outlay has been sanctioned by the Planning Commission.
Moreover, about 60 percent of the sanctioned amount has been utilized by the State Departments till date.
The HODs have also been instructed to submit new proposals for fund utilization to the Finance Department by February 10 next month.
