Manipur hits highest daily positivity rate of 12.9 pc since Jun

Imphal, June 27 2021: Out of 5185 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 669 tested positive for COVID-19 pushing the daily positivity rate to 12.9 percent.

This is the highest daily positivity rate that Manipur has seen since June 22 and is way above the WHO stipulated figure of 5 percent for the Government to think about opening up.

Out of the 669 persons tested positive in the last 24 hours, 6 are personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .

And out of the 663 civilians who tested positive, 320 are women.

Besides pushing the positivity rate to its highest in the last 6 days, Manipur witnessed 16 deaths due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the total death tally to 1124.On the other hand, the State saw 509 persons discharged in the last 24 hours out of which 186 were from home isolation, RIMS (16), CCCs (108) and CHCs (199) .

The recovery rate stands at 89.78 percent.

The cumulative number of recovered cases is 61,038 (general population-57,270 and Central security personnel-3768).The 16 persons who passed away due to the virus in the last 24 hours were from Imphal West (4), Imphal East (4), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1) and Churachandpur (5) .

They passed away at RIMS (4), JNIMS (3), Shija Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (1), Thoubal District Hospital (1), Churachandpur District Hospital (5) and CCC Lakoipat (1) .

The 663 positive persons from amongst the civilians were drawn from Imphal East (93), Imphal West (226), Thoubal (69), Bishnupur (75), Kakching (81), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (71), Chandel (7), Tamenglong (12), Tengnoupal (4), Kamjong (4), Pherzawl (1) and Kangpokpi (17) .

The cumulative number of positive cases is 67,986 (general population-64,165 and Central security personnel-3821) .

The number of active cases has gone up to 5,824 including 48 Central security personnel.

The total number of persons who have been vacci- nated against COVID-19 is 5,31,004 .

In the last 24 hours a total of 2243 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 319 B Type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres across the State, said the COVID-19 Control Room in a statement.

The Control Room has once again reminded the people to seek immediate medical help if their oxygen level goes below 94 percent.
