108 test positive, death toll rises by 2

The State's Covid-19 death toll has risen by two to 2077 after two individuals belonging to Imphal West and Thoubal died from the virus during the last 24 hours.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, both the victims had co-morbidities.
One of them had taken both the first dose and second dose of Covid vaccine while the other had received the first dose.
On the other hand, 107 civilians and one CAPF personnel were confirmed Covid-19 positive at RIMS (9), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (90) out of 1,673 samples tested for the virus which implies daily positivity rate of 6.5 per cent.
The civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (18), Imphal West (50), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (10), Kakching (7), Kangpokpi (3), Tamenglong (2), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (4), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
Kakching district logged the highest daily positivity rate of 21.2 per cent followed by Bishnupur and Imphal West (10 per cent each) and Imphal East 8.8 per cent.
Following recovery, 158 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (112), RIMS (8), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (30) .
A press release by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that the present recovery rate is 96.74 per cent.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,35,638 (general population 1,30,644 and Central security personnel 4,994) .
It includes 2345 active cases (general population 2242 and Central security personnel 103) and 1,31,216 recovered cases (general population 1,26,332 and Central security personnel 4,884) .
A total of 287 D-type oxygen cylinders and 67 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
At present, 58 (out of 300) Covid beds of JNIMS and another 59 (out of 190) of RIMS are occupied.
With 9006 doses jabbed on Thursday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 26,13,993 (first dose 14,77,857, second dose 10,89,092 and precautionary dose 47,044) .
Till February 10, 46.52 per cent of the State's total eligible population has taken both the first and second doses of Covid vaccine while 60.03 per cent has been given the first dose.
