Plate tourney: YWC-P, NCA notch up victories

The MNCA Plate Tournament on Tuesday saw YWC-P and NCA notch up wins.
YWC-P beat SSU by 4 wickets in a low-scoring match at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, YWC-P garnered 135 for 6 in 20 overs.
In the innings, Thoungamba Meitei (32), Khedabath (30), Johnson (19), Piojit (15 not out) and Shitaljit (12) were the main run-getters.
In reply, SSU faltered in their chase and ended up managing just 73 after they were bowled in 14.4 overs.
Shitaljit did the major damage to the SSU batting lineup, claiming 5 wickets.
Jagat also impressed with the ball by taking 3 wickets while Johnson did his bit with 2 scalps as the YWC-P trio's brilliant bowling display helped their side secure a 4-wicket victory.
Earlier, Douglas Singh snapped 2 wickets while Bolanath, Gugu and Deepanwar took 1 wicket apiece for SSU.
NCA, on the other hand, sealed a 67-run success against PSC at Lairenjam Public Ground.
The winning side chose to bat first and posted a total 140 for 7 in 20 overs.
Th NCA innings saw Roshankumar score 40, Bobby hit an unbeaten 30, Sidarth make 27 and Hilbert contribute 26.In the process the team lost 2 wickets each to Martin and Thonson, and one each to Gautam and Kenny.
NCA then dished out a superb bowling performance to dismiss PSC for 73 in 15.4 overs.
Robinhood led the scalping with 4 wickets, Shinoj picked up 3 wickets, and Sadananda and Hilbert chipped in with one wicket each.
