2358 Dengue cases logged so far this year

Imphal, November 21 2023:
The State so far has detected 2358 Dengue cases this year with Imphal West topping the list at 1524 .
As per a report of State Malaria Officer (SMO) Dr Salam Priyokumar, Pherzawl and Jiribam have not reported any cases of Dengue this year till yesterday (November 20) .
Imphal West with 1524 reported the maximum Dengue cases followed by Imphal East with 483 cases.
The other districts which reported Dengue cases are Bishnupur (73), Chandel (11), Tengnoupal (18), Churachandpur (7), Kangpokpi (21), Senapati (41), Tamenglong (3), Noney (12), Kakching (34), Ukhrul (12) and Kamjong (5).The total of the breakup given however adds up to only 2244 .
Saying that the Government has been carrying out different exercises such as fogging, street corner meetings, awareness programmes etc to control the outbreak of Dengue, the SMO asked the people to follow Dengue prevention guidelines instead of leaving everything to the Government.
The report didn't mention anything about Dengue related deaths.
