SEIL tour to state explores educational, cultural dimensions

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) hosted an educational initiative called SEIL (Students' Experience Inter-State Living) North-East Study Tour from November 5 to 20 with nine SEIL delegates from different states immersing themselves in an exploration of Manipur.
ABVP Manipur unit informed in a statement that the journey commenced with a warm reception at Mount Everest College on November 5, followed by a similar reception at HIT Manipur on November 6.During their tour, the delegates stayed with different families in Senapati, Kangpokpi, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Imphal East and Imphal West districts with the aim to have a better understanding of the local people.
On November 7, the delegates visited universities and institutions, including NIT, CPET, CAU, MU, DMU, POLYTECHNIC, MTU, Mangolnganbi College, and CI College.
On November 12, the SEIL delegates joined Manipur ABVP members at the state office to celebrate Diwali.
Continuing their engagement with the community, they visited a relief camp on November 14 and interacted with the displaced people while distributing chocolates to children to mark Children's Day.
The team further explored Noney district on November 15, visiting the highest railway bridge and delved into the picturesque Khoupum villages.
Local MLA and HAC chairman Dinganglung Gangmei extended a warm traditional welcome, guiding them through local tourism spots.
Diving deeper into the cultural fabric, SEIL delegates spent four days with different host families, gaining profound insights into local culture, traditions, and culinary practices, enhancing their overall learning experience.
A significant highlight occurred on November 16, when MU's Ancient History Department felicitated the SEIL delegates, providing an opportunity for engaging discussions with scholars and students.
Subsequently, on November 17, the delegates visited CM's bungalow for discussions on pressing issues.
The exploration continued with a visit to Sendra Tourist Spot, a meeting with LDA chairman M Asnikumar, and dinner at Sendra Resort.
They also visited Raj Bhavan and had a dinner with health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan later in the evening.
On November 18, the delegates visited DMU where they were accorded a warm reception by vice-chancellor professor N Rajmuhan.
The day continued with lunch at NIT Manipur along with registrar professor Tomba Kh, followed by a SEIL Delegates Experience Programme at NIELIT Akampat, which was attended by director N Debachandra and government' officials, the statement added.
