YUCC, AKSDO, PSC, YWC-L and Blue Hawk notched up commanding victories in the 4th MNCA U16 Boys Trophy on Wednesday.
YUCC produced an all-round performance to thrash YPHUC by 299 runs in a lop-sided match at Dhobi Lampak, Kongba Khunou.
Electing to bat, YUCC, powered by Thoiba's 173 off 68 balls and Ricky's 99 off 89 balls, set up a mammoth 390 for 6 .
Reshan was another major contributor in their innings.
After their blazing batting display, YUCC followed it up with a brilliant bowling attack, spearheaded by Kenedy, to bowl out YPHUC for a meagre 91 in 20.5 overs.
Kenedy stole the show with a 7-wicket haul while Bonny claimed 2 scalps and Joychand took 1 wicket.
PSC, on the other hand, hammered YWC-P by 141 runs at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
The winning side batted first and posted a respectable 285 for 9 with the help of Ch Kenny (53), Khoraijam Sagarjit (48), Thokchom Zellel (35), Gautam (32), Thomson Moirangthem (24), Martin (19) and Hijam Ibungo (14).In the process, PSC lost 4 wickets to Nickel, 3 to Johnson and 2 to Jagat.
PSC then took 29.1 overs to bundle out YWC-P for 144.Ch Kenny and Thomson snapped 3 wickets apiece, Gautam took 2 wickets, and Prasanta and Martin bagged 1 wicket each in their emphatic victory.
At Cherapur, AKSDO secured a 54-run triumph against MPA in a low-scoring match.
AKSDO, who chose to bat first, struggled to score big runs as they managed 143 after being dismissed in 35 overs.
In the innings, Lanchenba (34 not out), Kaiku (25 not out) and Bishworjit (22) were the main run-getters.
Despite their low total, AKSDO successfully defended their scores after stopping MPA's chase in 30.1 overs for 89.Sanayai and Kaiku played a vital role in their side's win as the duo scalped 3 wickets each, with Dinesh and Nunghiba chipping in with 2 scalps apiece.
YWC-L defeated TRAU by 62 runs at Oriental College.
Batting first, YWC-L scored 197 for 8 as their total revolved around Y Achouba's unbeaten knock of 103, backed by Rahis Khan's 18.In reply, TRAU faltered in their chase and lost all their wickets in 31.3 overs, scoring 135.In their triumph, Y Achouba claimed 3 wickets, Ziad Khan took 2, and Y Athouba, Y Brightson and Y Kumar bagged 1 each.
In the day's other match, Blue Hawk claimed a 43-run win over ESU.
They made 178 for 8 in their innings and then bowled out their opponents in 28.5 overs for 135 .
