Imphal, December 04 2023: Ziontlang SYC and Chandel Christian YC emerged victorious enroute to the quarterfinals of the Chandel Second Division Football Tournament 2023 on Monday.

Despite losing on the last day of the group stage, Chandel Police FC and Chakpikarong YC also joined Ziontlang and Chandel Christian in the last eight.

Ziontlang SYC eased past Khoriibung FC 2-0 with efforts by TH Roungam (14) and PV Jaishu (61).Chandel Christian YC, on the other hand, eked out a 1-0 win over Renaching YDC with the help of WNG Rucho, who scored his match-winning goal in the 71st minute.

Riindamkhuw SC beat Chandel Police FC by a 3-1 margin courtesy of a double from Th Thingsheng (39, 74) and a goal from Th Kamshul (20), while the losing side's lone goal was scored by R Mitchel (78) .

SR Denny scored a brace to help Phungchung YC edge past Chakpikarong YC 3-2 .

Denny claimed his double in the 18th and 25th minutes while LH Sutha added one in the 80th minute.

SNG Angjoyla (29) and HB Kowahring (82) scored for Chakpikarong in a losing cause.

Koltal Khunthak YC thumped Soltang FC 10-2 as Ashok (16, 23, 28, 37, 75, 85) dazzled for his team with a six-goal salvo while Shelstone (26, 47, 88) grabbed a hat-trick and Angdun (10) contributed a goal.

Soltang FC scored through Bungdon (33) and Kanhoi (57) .

Western Soldong FC drubbed Morningstar YCC 3-0.Both Apanson (56) and Rakesh (63) converted in their win.

The winning side's other goal came via an own goal (26).In the first two quarterfinal matches on Tuesday (December 5), Ziontlang SYC will take on Charangching Khunou YC while Chandel Christian YC will clash with Riindamkhuw SC.

The other two quarterfinal fixtures on December 6 pit Monsangpantha YCC against Chakpikarong YC and Chandel Police FC against Cheengkhu YC .
