Imphal, December 04 2023:
After the Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) asked 12 persons to return or communicate within two days, the Koireng-led UNLF gave their side of the story.
Reacting sharply to Pambei-led UNLF's allegation that Central Committee of UNLF led by Koireng did not honour party's constitution in resolving internal matters, a statement of Koireng-led Central Committee of UNLF clarified that all internal matters of the outfit were resolved with strict adherence to party's constitution.
The internal matter of the outfit occurred in June, 2020 was brought by an enquiry commission, which conducted thorough investigation.
However, Pambei and his son Lamjingba faced a serious charge during the time that they colluded with Indian agencies to end outfit's sovereignty movement.
Even though the father-son duo termed the charge against them baseless and assured to defend as per party's constitution, they became betrayal and colluded with the enemy to destroy UNLF, alleged the Koireng-led UNLF in the statement.
According to the statement issued by publicity secretary M Sak-Hen, Pambei was against bringing justice to the allegation levelled against him through constitutional process and this was the most important reason for dissent within the outfit.
It also said that the disclosure by the Pambei-led UNLF's general secretary Thanil that they established communication with government of India three years back clearly indicated that Pambei and his son Lamjingba had been communicating with the Indian government since the past 3/4 years.
Acting chairman of Pambei-led UNLF had long been concealed as one Thangminlen but the person came out as Nongyai just after signing peace agreement in Delhi, Shak-Hen said in the statement said and called Nongyai opportunist as per situation.
It also said that Pambei is being concealed in the peace talk while his son Lamjingba and Nongyati emerged as architect of the peace talk.
Instead of giving answer for righteousness of holding political talks, Pambei-led UNLF has been trying to sideline the matter through threat and intimidation, the Central Committee alleged and maintained that UNLF cannot be destroyed merely by giving free hand and moving freely with arms as objectives and ideology of the outfit remain intact with the people of Manipur and their lives for more than the past 50 years.
