37th National Games : Manipur improve medal tally with 4 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze on Day 9

Imphal, November 03 2023: Manipur added four gold medals, four silver medals and one bronze medal to improve her medal tally to 16 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals on the 9th day of the 37th National Games in Goa.

Manipur has so far won 43 medals.

Maharashtra was leading the tally with a total of 165 medals which include 60 gold medals.

Manipur cyclists and women's Sepaktakraw teams performed their best today to win four golds.

Cycling-2 Gold medals

Yanglem Rojit Singh completed the Men's sprint event in 10.50 seconds to win one gold for Manipur.
State women cyclists won gold in the Women's Team Pursuit (4 Km).
The team members include Irom Matouleibi, Tongbram Manorama, Mayanglambam Sonali and Khoirom Rojiya.

They completed the event in 5.5.235 minutes. Sepaktakraw-2 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals

Manipur beat Nagaland in the Women Regu Event final by 24-22, 21-17 to win gold.
Manipur beat Goa in Women Team Event final to win gold.
Manipur beat Goa 21-14, 21-10 in the 1st Regu and 21-9, 21-3 in the 2nd Regu.
In Men Team Event Final, Manipur lost to Goa to settle for Silver.
Goa beat Manipur 21-15, 21-18 in the 1st Regu, 14-21, 16-21 in the 2nd Regu and 21-14, 21-12 in the 3rd Regu.
Goa beat Manipur by 21-15, 21-17 in the chase for gold in the Men Regu Event Final.

Wushu-2 Silver medals

Ningthoujam Malemn-ganba won a silver in the Gunshu event.

Ningthoujam Malemnganba hails from Elangkhangpokpi Yangdong Maning Leikai.
Wangkheirakpam Ningthibi Devi won a silver in Wushu event.

She scored 8.40 points.
Wangkheirakpam Ningthibi Devi hails from Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai.
Wrestling-1 Bronze medal

Potshangbam Bidyarani won a bronze medal in the women's 53 Kg category.
