Senapati, June 09 2026:
A delegation of the Naga Mothers' Association (NMA) and the Global Naga Forum (GNF) from Kohima visited Senapati on Tuesday and carried out a humanitarian relief mission for Naga families affected by the ongoing conflict in Manipur.
The visiting team was received by the Naga Women's Union Manipur, led by its president Ch Priscilla Thiumai, at the union's office in Senapati, where an interaction programme was also held.
Addressing the gathering, NMA president Vilanuo Angela Yhome said the delegation had come to extend relief assistance and express solidarity with affected families during the difficult period.
Calling for peace, she urged people to remain steadfast and remember the purpose of God in their lives.
She also conveyed condolences to families who lost their loved ones and encouraged Naga women to remain strong and become agents of peace in society.
NMA advisor and GNF co-convenor Dr Rosemary Dzuvichii said the Naga mothers shared the pain and suffering of those affected by the conflict.
Expressing concern over the delay in delivering justice to the six missing Naga men, she remarked that lasting peace would remain elusive unless justice is ensured.
Speaking to media persons, Dzuvichii criticised the State Government for its alleged failure to protect citizens and voiced concern over reported incidents involving women in Ukhrul.
She also appealed to Naga legislators to raise their voices and work towards securing justice for the affected people.
The delegation included research scholar Petekhrieu Tase, Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation (Nagaland) president Apeuna Iheilung, general secretary Hiatwagongle Herie and former NMA vice-president Sarah Nuh.
During the visit, the team distributed relief materials, including rice, potatoes, clothing, food items and other essential commodities, jointly contributed by the NMA and GNF for conflict-affected families.
