Injured in Kanglatongbi incident discharged from JNIMS, Relief Committee thanks donors

Imphal, August 22 2026:
Four persons injured in the incident that occurred at Kanglatongbi on August 20, and referred from Sekmai PHC to JNIMS Hospital for treatment, have been discharged on August 21 .
The injured persons are P Asenbou, 44, of Makhan, Kangpokpi district; Chunwibou, 17, of 2nd MR Imphal; Wikhouliu, 36, of Konsakhul, staying at Makha Relief Camp; and Wilubou Marenmei, 33, of Khunkhu Naga village, who was undergoing treatment at the Surgery Ward.
In a press release, Relief Committee, JNIMS Hospital, expressed gratitude to JNIMS authorities, Medical Superintendent Dr Kh Lokeshor, doctors, nurses, technical staff and CMHT staff for their support in the treatment.
The Committee also thanked donors who extended financial assistance to the patients.
The donors include Seram Bobo Meetei of Kangla Sangomshang, Kongpal Laihiden Lamjing Meira Paibi Women's Welfare Association, Bisoya Loitongbam of e-Gov Foundation, IIM Lucknow Noida Complex, Eastern Popular Club, Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai, KNYT Khurai Chaithabi Leirak Machin, Traditionally Taroo Taroo (Khurai Lamlong Keithel), and Sapam Biswajit Meetei, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India.
