CMCGA members call on Governor

Representatives of Churachandpur Medical College Guardians Association (CMCGA) led by Md Anuwar Hussain called on the Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan today and requested to look into the grievances faced by the students of Churachandpur Medical College.
Representatives of the association informed the Governor that out of the total 100 students (2nd Batch MBBS), 92 students including 12 from outside the State have been facing a lot of difficulties in their studies, said a release issued by CMCGA.
They shared that although classes have commenced from September 1 for Batch 2023-24 at State Academy of Training, students are deprived of practical classes and hostel facilities.
They also drew the attention of the Governor to look into the issue and requested her to direct the authorities concerned to take necessary steps at the earliest.
CMCGA continued that the Governor spoke to the Commissioner (health) PK Jha over the phone during the meeting and asked him to address the grievances faced by the students.
The Commissioner informed the Governor that arrangement is going on to accommodate the students to the hostel facilities of SAT and priority will be given to girl students.
He also added that the process to hire private rented apartments is also going on and within 7-10 days the issue will be solved.
The Governor also assured the guardians to extend all possible help in the interest of the students and asked them to console their wards.
