MNCA : All round performance by Lucky takes PCC into final of U14 boys cricket tournament

PCC Mayai Koibi have advanced to the final of the 2nd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament after sealing a 29 run win over AKSDO Khangabok in the first semi-final of the tourney staged at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part IV, today.
Batting first, PCC knocked 214/9 in the 30 over match while AKSDO collected 185/9 in the chase.
The Mayai Koibi side rode on an impressive half century from opener Lucky Thokchom (82 off 51 balls) who hit 13 boundaries (eight 4s and five 6s) and Pravin Kumar's 42 runs off 33 deliveries to post a formidable 214 for nine.

The run rate of PCC declined considerably after the dismissal of Lucky and Pravin Kumar in the 16.2 and 19.2 overs respectively as only two of the batsmen who came out later scored a double digit run viz Chabungbam Paikhomba Singh (12) and Master Boy Anoubam (12 not out) .
It was Chingamba Elangbam who dismissed most of the middle and lower order line up of PCC as he alone took five wickets with an economy of 2.00 .
The other wicket takers of AKSDO were Bidyananda Ningthoujam (1 wkt), Saikhom Dinesh (1 wkt) and Paikhomba Laishram (1 wkt) .
The Khangabok side struggled in the chase despite opener Borish Khundrakpam who smashed 86 off 94 balls batting till the final over as most of its batsmen were restricted by PCC's bowlers from making runs.
Of the 17 boundaries hit by AKSDO in the second innings, 12 came from Borish alone.
Apart from Borish, only two other batsmen of AKSDO scored runs in double digit figure and they were Moirangthem MC Chan Meitei (21 runs) and Raylight Ningthoujam (11 runs) Lucky who showed exemplary performance while batting also did well while bowling as he fell three wickets and was the top wicket taker of PCC.
He was given the man of the match title for his all round performance.
Chabungbam Paikhomba, Rojer Laishram, Pravin Kumar, Lamnganba Nongmaithem of PCC took a wicket each in the innings.
