NEP in line with needs of New India: Governor

Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Thursday inaugurated the 'Manipur Symposium on C20 - Education and Digital Transformation' at Imperial Hall of Classic Grande, Chingmeirong.
The programme was organised by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and hosted by Intellectual Forum of North East, Manipur.
In her address, Governor Uikey said that under the able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed many achievements at the international level during Amritkal, which makes all of us proud.
"Getting the presidency of organisations like G20, United Nations Security Council and Shanghai Cooperation Organization in one year shows the new India getting stronger at the global level.
This is a golden opportunity for us to introduce the country's strength, culture and power to the world.
Today the world is looking towards India for solution to all the major challenges of the world.
Certainly, it will prove to be helpful in shaping our global objectives," she added.
The Governor further said that the presidency of G20 is special as it is a group of countries that represents 85 percent of the world's GDP, and its agenda is inclusive and ambitious.
She also lauded and congratulated the mantra of Madhav Seva, B20 president Mata Amrita Nandmayi for serving the poor and downtrodden as this is probably the first time that a spiritual leader has been given the opportunity to represent a major event like C20.Anusuiya Uikey also mentioned that Mata Amrita Nandamayi is working on service, spirituality and wellness, adding, "We can see the love and compassion of mother Amrita in India today.
Along with mother power, the image of great men, sages and sages of our country is seen in them".
In the last 9 years, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, so many works have been done in every region, especially in the North East.
These works are related to infrastructure related to connectivity, rail network, work in the field of health, and revolution in the held of education and digital.
Today North East is seen in a new form.
Earlier, the news of disasters used to be common here, but now there has been a lot of reduction in them, she added.
Regarding women empowerment, the Governor stated that it has become the identity of new India.
Continuous work is on to make women more empowered.
She expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving opportunity to move forward among women, especially tribal women.
She also said, "Today, the potential of Digital India is echoing in the world.
New India has also become a leader in ensuring social security through digitization.
Due to digital transformation in education, health, banking and other sectors, people have got convenience in every field.
Everyone has seen how digital transformation kept everything like education and banking running during Covid-19.Online teaching classes have proved to be very helpful to the students and teachers".
The Governor added, "The new national education policy is truly in line with the needs of New India.
Today the youth is witnessing the new era, moving forward full of skills.
New India is preparing its citizens for the 21st century through the new education policy." She then appealed to the gathering to take advantage of this opportunity and do something through their contribution that not only the world remembers the tenure of this presidency of India but also the contributions of all are discussed in history.
