Imphal, July 04 2023:
Muslim community in Manipur is always ready to sacrifice to protect the State's boundary and integrity, said Manipur Muslim Welfare organisation (MMWO) today.
At the office of the organisation at Hatta, Imphal, its president Boboi Korimayum said, Pangals have always stood for Manipur's integrity and the present generation will continue to stand their ground firmly to protect the State.
People at present are standing up to threats that aim to disintegrate Manipur.
The Pangal community is with the people, he said.
Violent clashes have also occurred in other parts of India, but they were controlled and contained by the Central Government in time by taking up appropriate measures to restore normalcy and peace.
However, the nearly 60 days old crisis in Manipur has not ended revealing Centre's ignorance and indifferent attitude towards the people of the State, Boboi said.
He said the Centre needs to be reminded that Manipur is a strategically important State located in the North East.
Boboi then pointed at the influx of illegal immigrants across the porous border as the cause of the present crisis.
The people of the State, for decades, have been urging the Centre and the State Government to complete the Indo-Myanmar border fencing and seal the porous border.
If the Government had paid heed to the appeal, the present crisis could have been averted, he said.
He appealed to all political parties and their leaders to work together to protect the State's integrity and find ways to restore normalcy and peace.
