Situation normal despite sporadic incidents: Police

Combined teams of police and central forces continued to conduct search operations in vulnerable and fringe areas of both the hill and the valley districts on Monday.
According to a press note released by the Police Control Room of Manipur Police on Monday, despite sporadic incidents of firing and congregation of unruly mob during the last 24 hours, the situation is normal in most districts.
Intermittent firing between armed miscreants was reported in the intervening night of July 1 and 2 at the adjoining villages of Chinglangmei and Langza, Samulamlam Block, Chruachandpur district.
During the incident, one person was reported to be dead and another injured.
Security forces immediately launched an operation and the armed miscreants were repelled.
On Sunday, suspected armed miscreants fired from the abandoned Napat village and Tangjeng Ahallup areas of Bishnupur towards Khoubuk and Tangjeng Khunjao areas of Kakching.
Kakching district police launched an operation and the situation was put under control.
Meanwhile about 118 check-points have been installed in different districts in both the hills and the valley.
Police detained around 326 people in connection with violations in different districts.
The checking at the checkpoints were intensified round the clock in order to prevent unwanted incidents.
