All Rural Ideal Cultural Association (ARICA), Thanga has appealed to the people of the state to extend assistance to the relief camp run by the club along with Thanga Chingkha Meira Paibi Lup at Thanga Chingkha Mandop.
In a statement, ARICA informed that the relief camp was set up from May 9 and has been providing shelter and other basic needs to several displaced people from different parts of the state.
Earlier, the relief camp used to receive relief assistance from different NGOs, clubs and organisations.
However, given the remote location of the camp, assistance from organisations are dwindling today.
Though local MLA and government have started providing some assistance, the club is facing hardships in the management of the camp.
The statement further informed that earlier, there were hundreds of displaced people from 148 families in the camp.
After shifting to other locations, the camp is now providing shelter to 84 displaced persons, who are living like a big family.
Unfortunately, the camp is facing shortage of basic commodities, it stated while appealing to the people of the state for generous contribution to the club.
