Imphal, July 04 2023:
Building shelter homes is welcomed, but the displaced people want to return to their original homes and native villages, reminded Peoples' Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM) to the State Government.
The violence that first erupted on May 3 has claimed many lives and displaced thousands of people.
The Government building shelter homes at Kwakta Sericulture Farm for rehabilitation is a positive step, but the displaced people do not want to stay there forever.
They want to return to their native villages and homes, said PANDM in a statement released to the media.
Hinting that the Kuki militants have continued their offensive and occupied several areas in the peripheral areas of the valley, PANDM asked the State Government if Manipur's boundary in the South will end at Kangvai and at Phayeng and Kadangbad in the North-West.
It asked if Meiteis will not be able to reach Leimakhong and kept restricted at Kanto Sabal.
Is the Government going to give away all the hilly regions and the peripheral areas of Yaingangpokpi, Serou, Tangjeng, Maphou Dam, Nongpok Keithelmanbi and Moreh to the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists? asked PANDM.
The State Government shouldn't surrender so easily, it said stating such a plan (to give away land to Kuki militants) will never be realised as long as there is a single drop of blood in the veins of the Meiteis.
Without proper intervention of the Centre, Manipur has become a battlefield, asserted PANDM.
It asserted that the Centre has left the people on their own to kill off each other.
Even as the Government of India watches on, the Kuki militants are continuously attacking Meitei villages and the people.
A handful of village volunteers are defending the Kuki militants' onslaught using licensed guns.
Armed with only their sheer will and bravery to defend the villages, the volunteers are facing the well armed Kuki militants, said PANDM.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nor ears to hear the cry of the people and the Security Advisor is not giving true reports and facts of the present situation to the public, claimed PANDM.
"No idea where it gets the information from, but the Security Advisor is asserting that there is normalcy overall in Manipur.
If the Security Advisor is unable to inform the people true reports, then there is no need for such a post," said PANDM.
PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier said that India can't develop without Manipur.
However, Manipur is burning now and they have done "little" to stop the violence.
It is crystal clear that the India Government is "siding" with the narco-terrorists who are attacking Meitei villages and the civilians.
While the "Assam Rifles stand on their side", bullets have been fired at the Meitei side allowing the Kuki militants to burn down Meitei houses, said PANDM.
The Security Advisor has claimed that Central Paramilitary Forces have been deployed at all sensitive areas.
However, it turns out the forces have been deployed on the Kuki militants' side "to protect the narco-terrorists" .
It is claimed that bunkers have been dismantled at high sensitive zones.
The Chief Minister had, a few days ago, visited Khoijumantabi, and he must have seen the bunkers installed by the Kuki militants standing there, said PANDM claiming the Central Forces have not dismantled many newly erected bunkers of the Kuki militants.
While the media is not invited, the State forces have also not been involved in operations conducted to destroy Kuki militants' bunkers.
The Central forces alone are conducting the operations and no bunkers have been destroyed.
If the media were allowed to enter and cover the operations, it would have exposed their lies, it said.
On the other hand, farmers are afraid to work in the fields as they are often targeted and fired upon by the Kuki militants.
Where are the security forces, the Security Advisor claimed to have deployed, asked PANDM urging the Government to deploy State forces in all sensitive areas.
If the Centre is abandoning the people for Kuki militants and not protecting its own citizens then, as done in Mizoram, people may be compelled to raise the slogan "Hello China Bye Bye India", said PANDM asking the Centre if it wants this.
PANDM said it endorses all efforts of the COCOMI in the present crisis.
Further, it warned all concerned not
to sell tobacco products.
