RNPO addresses key political and organisational matters

The Rongmei Naga People s Organisation (RNPO) convened its central executive meeting at Chungaizaeng, Burma Camp in Dimapur, Nagaland on Tuesday.
Members from Manipur, Assam and Nagaland units along with representatives from prominent organisations such as Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation, Rongmei Luh Phuam and Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation were in attendance.
The meeting presided by RNPO speaker Kadongai Pan mei in the presence of president Chingkhiulung Gonmei and general secretary Achong Gangmei primarily tocused on crucial political and organisational concerns that directly impact the RNPO and its constituents.
During the meeting, the stage was set for the two-day RNPO general assembly at Longmai in Tamenglong district from August 8.Furthermore, a proposal was put forth to ap point Ningkhuon Gonmei from Nagaland as RNPO Election Commission chief commissioner, with one representative each from Manipur and Assam.
Acknowledging the conclusion of the term of the Constitution Amendment Committee, the central executive formed a fresh committee to carry on its essential work with Mathew Rongmei chairman and Meijian Gonmei and Panti Kamei of Nagaland, two from Manipur and one from Assam as members.
Moreover, a discussion was also held on the pressing need to establish an RNPO office in Tamenglong.
Before the start of the meet, a moment of silence was observed in honour of RNPO former president (late) Amu Kamei for his invaluable contributions.
The central executive meeting concluded with a commitment to address the organisation's political and organisational challenges, striving for the betterment of the Rongmei Naga community as a whole.
