Imphal, June 10 2010: The 10th death anniversary of social activist, writer, Arambam Samarendra was celebrated widely in and outside Manipur today.

The main functions were celebrated at Khurai Salanthong organised by the Arambam Samarendra Memorial Trust and Social Standard Club with rich floral tributes at the Statute of the late social activist, patriotic songs contributed by the departed leaders were sung by artists on the occasion.

While speaking at a function organised at the office of the patriotic Writers' Forum, Keisampat president Writers' Forum Imphal, Aribam Kumar Sharma said that now is time to remember the guidance and philosophy of Arambam Samarendra.

He reminded that Arambam Samarendra believed in work rather than speaking, he further asserted that the late leader was with multi faceted personality, who tried to take the people of Manipur in right direction His multi faceted personality was difficult for the common people to noticed said the chief guest of the celebration Aribam Kumar Sharma.

He called upon the people to study the messages and path given by the late leader.

In another function held at Iboyaima Sumang Lila Sanglen by Manipur State Sumang Lila Council, renown artists of the state paid floral tribute and their respect to the late leader recalling Arambam Samarendra as inspiring script writer.

In the function dance by artists on the patriotic songs written by the late leader were presented.

Painting competitions for children, indigenous wrestling , football , Kang festivals were held at different places of Manipur as parts of the celebration, this was stated by Arambam Lokendra, younger brother of the late leader while speaking to Hueiyen reporter.

The celebrations in commemoration of the 10th death anniversary of the late leaders were also held at Silchar, Hojai , Moreh, Langmeidong, Yairipok by different clubs and organisations.

At Imphal the celebrations were held at different places including Manipur Press Club by Universal Mothers organisation, Sekta by Social Sporting Club, Khongman by Social workers congress, Jiri by Jiri Development Organisation.

Symposium on the late leader and recitation on patriotism were parts of the celebrations.

At Thoubal the celebration was organised by the Thoubal Youth Developmental Committee, report also came in on the celebration at Ethai, Wangoo, Kumbi, Kakwa.The 5th Arambam Samerandra lecture was held at G M Hall by Arambam Samerandra Trust.
