2 suspected killed in retaliatory firing

Moirang, July 28 2023:
Two Kuki militants were suspected to have been killed in retaliatory fire by security forces as they (Kuki militants) launched another round of offensive at Terakhong-shangbi, Bishnupur district at around 2.40 pm today.
Even as the Kuki militants launched the fresh offensive, the 18 year old Longjam Naocha who was undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity after he sustained injuries on the head in a bomb attack launched by Kuki militants in the intervening night of July 25 and 26 succumbed to the injuries late last night.
Using sophisticated weapons as well as mortars, lethods and local made bombs, the Kuki militants launched a fresh round of offensive at Terakhong-shangbi Maning Leikai from Maulngat village, Chura-chandpur district.
One village volunteer sustained injuries in the attack.
Moreover, another man was hit by a stray bullet on the leg on Tiddim Road, a little distance away from the conflict zone.
Some houses of Tera Khongshangbi Maning Leikai suffered damages as they were hit by bombs fired by Kuki militants.
As the State forces stationed in the area retaliated, it is suspected that two Kuki militants were also killed.
