Thoubal, July 28 2023:
TP Chankher Maring of Langol in Tengnoupal district expressed dismay on the incident of dismantling the house of his dear friend Naorem Kemar based on allegations that he was supplying grocery items to Kukis.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet held at Thoubal yesterday evening, TP Chankher said, 'It is disheartening to know that Kemar's house was dismantled by a mob believing that he was supplying grocery items to Kukis when Kemar was actually supplying those items to me' .
Chankher went on to state that Kemar has been supplying edible items like oil, flour etc from before for the Maring community through him.
'I have been procuring these items from Kemar after taking prior approvals from Chandel Naga Peoples Organisation (CNPO)', he clarified.
Maintaining that his friend Kemar is a hard-working person who has been striving earnestly to generate a regular income , Chankher appealed to all concerned not to suspect Kemar of involvement in any act of extending aid to Kukis amid the tense situation prevailing in the State.
He urged all to bring an amicable solution regarding the matter.
It may be noted that Kemar's house located at Tekcham Laibung Leikai was dismantled by an irate mob on Wednesday evening for allegedly supplying grocery items to Kukis and he has been ostracised from his locality.
