Imphal, February 04 2024:
A bomb was discovered near the Moreh branch office of State Bank of India this morning by a team of State forces.
It is suspected that the bomb was fired by suspected Kuki militants from RPG but it failed to explode.
The bomb was later detonated safely in situ by a bomb disposal squad of 5 Assam Rifles.
On the other hand, State forces deployed at the border town have been denied access to all kinds of food items including water and other daily requirements after the Village Volunteers, Tengnoupal District warned shopkeepers not to sell anything to the State forces.
On February 1, a water-tanker which used to supply water to the States forces was hijacked by Kuki militants.
Even though the driver, a Meitei Pangal was freed on the same day, the water-tanker (Tata DI) could not be traced till date.
