Biren returns, mum on meeting Shah

Chief Minister N Biren has returned from Delhi on Sunday, 1.30 pm and went straight to his official residence without interacting with journalists waiting for him at the Imphal International Airport.
Biren met union home minister Amit Shah at the national capital on Saturday to discuss the present crisis in the state.
No details were shared about the meeting except for a brief post by the CM on his social media accounts, in which he said: "Rest assured, the Government of India is set to take some important decisions in the interests of the people of Manipur".
He also had another meeting with the senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs after meeting Amit Shah.
"Held a productive discussion on the strategic measures undertaken for fostering peace in Manipur," he shared on his social media.
As no details were shared about the meeting, journalists waited for the chief minister at Imphal airport.
However, he along with Speaker Th Satyabrata and education minister Th Basanta Kumar went straight to their official residences from the airport without uttering anything to the journalists.
Earlier on Saturday, the CM also inspected the ongoing construction work of Manipur Bhawan in Dwarka, New Delhi.
He was accompanied by Th Satyabrata and Th Basanta Kumar.
Mention may be made that on January 21, CM N Biren chaired a meeting with 35 MLAs including Naga legislators, who are part of the government, to discuss in detail the future of the state, either good or bad, with regard to the conflict raging in the state for the past nine months.
The meeting agreed that the state government shall write to the centre to withdraw the suspension of operation agreement signed with Kuki armed outfits at the earliest.
All 35 MLAs, who attended the meeting, will be sending the joint letter to union home minister Amit Shah soon, the source said, adding that the decision, to withdraw the SoO pact was adopted in view of the Kuki outfits continuing to violate the ground rules and guidelines.
