Many extend humanitarian aid

Imphal, February 04 2024:
The United Voluntary Youth Council (UVYC), Human Rights Alert and A Karwan E Mohabbat today jointly organised a 'Distribution of children relief material' programme at KP College Hiyangthang.
The relief materials including note books, pens, sports material, vegetables, sweets, etc were provided to the school going children from Class I to XII who are studying at local schools.
The relief materials were donated by Meena Gupta, former Secretary, Ministry of Environment & Forest, Government of India and like minded people, said a release.
Keisam Pradip Kumar, Chairperson, Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights ( MCPCR) also attended the event.
A team of like minded individuals led by social activist Seram Neken also extended financial assistance to the Village Protection Force at Sinam village, Imphal East district and Arambai Tengol Unit 28 .
Notably, the team united under the name "Khutsamnana Chatminnasi" has over 200 members.
Seram Neken said that the dedication & sacrifices of village volunteers have so far saved the land & people of valley areas from 'narco terrorist aggressors' since May 2023 .
He asserted that the members will continue to contribute a small amount every month and donate to the village volunteers at different places.
Meanwhile, Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha on Sunday provided 5 weaving looms to the displaced women taking shelter at the relief camp set up in Nongada CHC Complex, Imphal East district.
At the event, Kh Imbomcha said that the weaving looms were provided to help empower and improve the economic condition of the displaced people.
Likewise, the All Mayai Lambi Transgender Association today organised a feast at Samurou High School relief camp to motivate & encourage the conflict survivors taking shelter there.
