Farmers briefed on Zero Ullage Cultivation

All India Coordination Research Project on Rapeseed Mustard, College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, under Central Agricultural University, Imphal organised one-day training cum awareness programme on 'Zero tillage Cultivation of Rapeseed Mustard in rice fallow of Manipur' at Oinam Awang Leikai community hall on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by ICAR-DRMR, Bharatpur, Rajasthan principal scientist Dr Bhagirath, CAU Imphal director of research Dr LM Garnayak and College of Agriculture, Department of Entomology Prof Kh Ibohal as presidium members.
During the programme, Prof Ibohal spoke on the topic of 'Insect-pests and incorporation oibee keeping in Rapeseed Mustard and their management'; COA, Imphal scientist (Plant Breeding) Dr Pushparani Senjam on 'Importance of adopting cultivation of Rapeseed-Mustard in rice fallow in Manipur condition'; and ICRP(R-M), COA scientist (Agronomy) Dr Diana Shamurailatpam on 'Package and practices for zero tillage cultivation of Rapeseed-Mustard in rice fallow'.
Later, urea, tarpaulin, quality seeds, bee boxes and bio pesticide were distributed to the attending farmers.
