51st Raising Day of ADC Senapati celebrated

The District Council Administration, ADC, Senapati celebrated 51st Raising Day of Autonomous District Council, Senapati at Senapati district headquarters Tuesday.
Before commencement of the formal programme, caretaker chairman of ADC Senapati A Kapan, who attended the event as chief guest, unfurled the tricolour in front of the office building followed by the national anthem.
In his welcome note, ADC CEO Adahrii Maheo stated that the ADC Raising Day used to be held in a grand manner inclusive of different interesting items including traditional indigenous wrestling competition.
However, the level of celebration has gone down due to absence of elected ADC members.
The CEO also stressed on the importance of empowerment of the ADC to enable it function efficiently at the grass-roots level.
As the chief guest, A Kapani lauded the elected members, staff, town commissioners and all concerned for their selfless sacrifices and working round the clock.
Regarding development in the district, Kapani stated that elected members could successfully implement pilot project by installing foot over bridge in the heart of Senapati town through contributions from all elected members.
Road median was also constructed thereby preventing accidents in the town and ensuring safety of school-going children.
He also said that two guest houses being constructed in the district are nearing completion.
New school buildings and barrack-type teachers' quarters have been constructed at various parts of the district, he said and urged all staff under ADC, Senapati to strive for development of the district.
The caretaker chairman and all former elected ADC Senapati members also appealed to all concerned to bring peace and restore normalcy in the state at the earliest possible.
