Women bodies decry hindrances in deployment of additional State Forces in Moreh

Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Moreh and Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Moreh in a joint statement urged Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights (KWOHR) to refrain from posing hindrance in deployment of State Forces in Moreh.
A joint press release issued by the General Secretaries of the two women bodies of Moreh stated that the State Forces in Moreh are safeguarding the law and order situation amid the prevailing unrest in the State thereby providing security to the civilians.
Therefore Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights (KWOHR) or any other organisation should not provide obstruction in initiatives taken up by the State Administration to keep the situation under control in Moreh preventing further escalations, the women bodies asserted.
Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup and Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Moreh strongly denounced the activities of blocking the deployment of additional State Forces in Moreh to curb further escalation of violence in the area aftermath the fresh cases of arson on July 26 last where abandoned houses of Meiteis were torched.
The women bodies urged the State Government to take up immediate measures to ensure that additional State forces who are halted at Tengnoupal reach Moreh at the earliest to restore peace and normalcy in the region.
If the State Government fails to do so, the women bodies warned that it will be compelled to take up a series of intense agitation in association with the victims from Moreh and civil society organisations.
